As the division grows, we are seeking an Institutional Advancement Manager, Foundation Office of the University, with a real passion for higher education and who appreciates the role of philanthropy in enabling the university to accomplish its mission. We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for their work and a dedication to the mission of CUHK-Shenzhen.

Post Specification

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the deputy director of Foundation Office, you will be responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects with the inclination to build a planned or major gift to the University.

1. Solicitation:

Responding to inquiries from donors, preparing and presenting gift alternatives to current and prospective donors, including executing gift planning strategies to accept gifts to the university prudently while adhering to relevant policies, and writing proposal in conjunction with supervisor and colleagues;

2. Cultivation:

Qualifying and fostering prospects through a variety of media and resources, with special emphasis on direct personal visits;

3. Stewardship:

Implementing stewardship activities with existing gift planning donors and beginning the stewardship process with new gift planning donors;

4. Identification:

Keeping current on programs and faculty, research and student initiatives at the university;

Identifying fellow colleagues or university leadership to be involved in cultivation and subsequent solicitations;

Collaborating with faculty, deans and other advancement colleagues when necessary;

5. Others:

Supporting alumni relations, special events and other units within University advancement;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;

2. Fluent spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese;

3. Not less than 8 years of relevant experience, part of which at management level, preferably 3-5 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in higher education, including experience communicating with donors considering donating gifts of accumulated wealth;

4. Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies;

5. Advanced skill in making persuasive and compelling presentations of campus goals/objectives and securing gifts;

6. Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, institutional policies, etcetera;

7. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of the campus, including relevant issues for both the campus and higher education;

8. Advanced analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills;

9. Skill to meet or exceed fundraising goals and objectives.

学院经理 - 研究生院 (Ref.2019/070/01)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen is looking for an administrative leader to head its Graduate School Office. As a key member of the CUHK administration, the successful candidate will play an important role in moving postgraduate education at CUHK, Shenzhen, to even higher levels. 

Post Specification

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The management of a growing team of highly skilled and dedicated administrators;

2. Working with the CUHK Shenzhen senior management on policy issues and close cooperation with the Dean of the Graduate School on all matters concerning research and taught postgraduate studies at CUHK, Shenzhen;

3. Working at flexible hours and duty trips outside Shenzhen will be required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. A graduate degree from a good university;

2. Extensive relevant experience at an appropriate level in the tertiary education sector (especially in committee work, policy development, report writing and office management in a sizable organization);

3. Good command of English and Chinese (especially Putonghua);

4. Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills;

5. Appropriate experience in conducting marketing, graduate student recruitment and promotional activities, and graduate student management matters;

6. Experience in budgeting, financial aid and scholarship matters;

7. Thorough knowledge of practices, trends and regulations of China’s postgraduate educational system.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The appointee will establish, co-ordinate and implement a comprehensive library services for the university.

1. Leading the development and timely delivery of the Library’s strategic plans, policies and services consistent with the university mission;

2. Providing direction to university administration in deployment of library services to support teaching, learning, research, administration and social activities of the university;

3. Overseeing the development of the Library’s print and digital collections ;

4. Developing  and managing  the Library budget;

5. Recruiting, leading and developing a team of high quality Library staff;

6. Designing and delivery of the Library’s information skills training.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Master's degree in Library and Information Science, advanced degrees in relevant fields will be given preference in consideration;

2. A proven record of holding progressively more demanding leadership and management roles over a ten year period in an academic library, with at least five years in posts with significant managerial and budgetary responsibility;

3. Organizational ability  including the development, management and timely completion of large, complex library projects and programmes;

4. A proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate user-centered learning services and technologies;

5. Effective people management and teamed together building skills ;

6. Knowledge of emerging and current global trends in academic librarianship, information technologies and scholarly communication;

7. Evidence of ongoing professional development, participation and contributions;

8. Library start-up, renovation or new build experience preferred; familiarity of library information system and a proven ability to oversee its implementation, familiarity with library web site development and maintenance;

9. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary duties are to provide day-to-day management support to the establishment of the School of Medicine including

1. Ability to direct a team of staff for all organizational work smoothly and efficiently;

2. Coordination on academic matters including program review and accreditation;

3. Managing budget and personnel matters;

4. Liaison with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, government agencies, hospitals and other stakeholders;

5. Support for strategic planning and special projects;

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor or higher degree in medicine or health management; 

2. A minimum of 12 year post-qualification executive or relevant experience with solid exposure in tertiary institutions, with at least 6 years at a senior management level in a medical school or hospital setting; 

3. Good command in both written and spoken language skills in English and Chinese;

4. Ability and initiative to work independently, show initiative and take full responsibility for completion of tasks;

5. Knowledge about assurance of academic quality is highly preferable;

6. Strong analytical and liaison skills;

7. Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with multiple stakeholders and superior communication and project management skills supported by a solid track record.

副处长 - 校园发展处 (Ref.2019/013/01)

职位说明

工作职责:

1. 协助校园发展处处长工作,可能阶段性受权代行使处长职责;

2. 负责校园建设项目的规划和设计管理、施工协调、质量监督等工作,及交付后工程维保期、正常使用期的设备与设施的运行监督与管理,是部门内工程事宜的总责任人;

3. 对外协调与政府工程部门的沟通工作,确保工程按时、按质、按量完成; 监督服务团队(设计、顾问、施工等)的工作质量、工作进度; 维护永利利益;

4. 对内协调永利各部门事务;管理、指导各专业工程师,建设一支专业、敬业、高效、团结的队伍;

岗位要求:

1. 土木工程、建筑学、水暖电及房地产相关专业本科或以上学历;

2. 15年以上专业工作经验,有设计、投资、顾问、监理、施工、物业管理等二类以上经验的优先;

3. 有效的人际沟通技巧; 对内能管理15人左右的团队;

4. 敬业,公正,廉洁,品德好;

5. 熟练使用CAD、MICROSOFT RPOJECT、EXCEL、WORD等工程及办公软件。
